At 7:42 am June 16th, during a severe thunderstorm, station 50 along with station 54 were dispatched for a shed/playhouse on fire to the rear of 115 North New street. Crews arrived and extinguished the fire which was confined to the shed/playhouse. It was determined that the fire was caused by lightning that struck a nearby tree. The shed/playhouse was a total loss. While crews were operating at the fire , they were also dispatched for a fire alarm at 126 Belvedere street. That alarm was caused by smoke for a tenant cooking.
