Friday afternoon a small fire was reported behind Belvidere St between S Main and S Spruce streets. Crews from Vigilance Hose and Upper Nazareth Fire Department we’re alerted and Fire Chief Jerry Johnson took command and reported a minor fire in a dumpster, cancelling Upper Nazareth. Engine 5012 responded with a crew of 4 firefighter. The fire was contained with a water fire extinguisher and then a line was pulled to saturate the contents to prevent if from reigniting. Officers from Nazareth PD and the Nazareth Ambulance Corps also responded to the incident. All emergency responders cleared with no further issues.
